In his eighth season with the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Alexander Rossi joins a new team: Arrow McLaren. The 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 winner, Rossi was the first rookie to win the race since 2001 and the first American rookie to win the famous race since 1928. At age 17, Rossi moved to Europe to chase his Formula One dream. He made five starts for Manor Marussia in 2015 and became the third American to race in Formula One since 1990. Rossi has won races in GP2 Series (now known as F2) and World Series by Renault and has competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rolex 24 At Daytona, the Baja 1000 and the Bathurst 1000. Outside the driver’s seat, Rossi co-hosts a popular podcast with fellow driver James Hinchcliffe called “Off Track with Hinch & Rossi.” He enjoys skiing, dirt bikes, wakeboarding and cooking and recently obtained his private pilot’s license. This season, Rossi is looking to “raise (his) game on and off the track.”

TEAM INFO

The Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team is a growing chapter in McLaren Racing’s history book — McLaren competing in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES since 2020 for the first time since the 1970s. With a three-car lineup in 2023, the team is poised to contend for race wins and the series championship.

The team represents two determined entities – Arrow Electronics and McLaren Racing – who joined forces with a clear aim to compete for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship and Indianapolis 500 victories.

The new team’s journey began in 2020 – 40 years after McLaren last competed full-time in the INDYCAR SERIES - with an exciting and promising first season of competition, including fourth place in the Drivers’ championship and Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year for Pato O’Ward, and six podiums across the team. In 2021, Pato accumulated two more victories, five podiums and third place in the Driver’s championship. Last season, in 2022, Pato claimed two additional victories and four podiums, while Felix Rosenqvist had one podium and two poles. Each driver finished second and fourth in the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500, respectively.

This 2023 season, Arrow McLaren continues to build on its success with Pato O’Ward piloting the No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet, Felix Rosenqvist driving the No. 6 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet, and with the addition of the veteran Alexander Rossi racing the No. 7 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet.
